After many months of planning and hard work, the Winch Design Book, published by Assouline, was launched last night at a private party at Maison Assouline in Piccadilly.
The event, which was the first launch in a series of small private events planned around the world in the next six months, was attended by close friends and family, as well as a select group of industry members and journalists, so many of whom have worked closely with Winch over the years.
Both Aino and Andrew gave short speeches during the evening’s proceedings, Aino focusing on the ethos of the book and its historical influences, and Andrew touching on the dreams it inspires and what it means to encapsulate the essence of the studio in a book to keep forever. It was also announced that Winch Design will be making a donation to The Blue Marine Foundation for every book sold, directly supporting their invaluable ocean conservation projects.
It was a wonderful evening of celebration, not only the launching of the book, but of the past 32 years of Winch Design and its evolution from sailing yacht design studio to multi-disciplinary international design brand.
